Donald Trump is back on Facebook and Instagram.
He is back in the presidential race and there’s likely to be a large budget put towards advertising.
He was initially banned indefinitely, though his accounts are no longer deemed to be dangerous. Twitter also re-instated his account at the end of last year after Elon Musk held a public poll.
Re-instatement and allowance for all political sides to voice their opinion is one that provides greater balance, and potentially a truer view of the real world. However it’s difficult to separate some political voices from their controversial beliefs. The negative consequences incurred by giving these voices the digital equivalent of a global megaphone are clear to see across human history.
Will it work out for the best or will we just have more lessons to learn from?
