Snapchat is being forced into a corner by over 1.3 million users who have complained about their recent update. However it remains confident that the significant changes to the user experience will pay off in the long term. Initial stats show Publisher Stories on Discover growing 40%, whilst users over 35 are engaging with the app more. With your friends posts being mixed up with messages, the app has become a bit frustratingly difficult to use. Stories are now shown based on your interests and favourites rather than being chronologically ordered. It is easier for popular people to be noticed, but harder for the average kid to make an impact. CEO Spiegel is standing his ground - "It'll take time for people to adjust, but for me using it for a couple months, I feel way more attached to the service."
